Shaded courtyard replan
A 42 m² rear yard with north-facing aspect and limited sun. Raised timber beds lifted planting above damp paving, gravel paths improved winter drainage, and a compact seating corner was positioned for afternoon light reflected from the white neighbour wall.

Sloped family garden
Plot fell 1.8 m front to back. Oak steps linked three terraces: lawn for play, a dining deck outside the kitchen, and upper beds with native shrubs to buffer westerly wind.

Coastal wind buffer
Low salt exposure but strong gusts from the fjord. Hedge species and staggered shrub groups reduced wind without blocking the view from the living room window.

Renovation garden reset
After an extension build, the rear garden was bare clay. New paths followed the changed door position; beds were aligned to new window views and downpipe locations.
