What we plan on your plot
Path and circulation
Main routes are drawn to match daily movement — bins, drying lines, seating and shed access — so paving follows use rather than symmetry alone.
Layered borders
Shrubs, perennials and ground cover are grouped by height and bloom sequence so beds read clearly through spring, summer and autumn.
Outdoor rooms
Decking, steps and retaining edges are sized for furniture groups and sun exposure at the hours you actually sit outside.
Bergen conditions need deliberate choices
Heavy rainfall, shade from neighbouring buildings and clay-heavy soil appear on most surveys we carry out in the city. Plans specify drainage falls, raised beds where needed and plant palettes that tolerate wet winters.
We work with local nurseries for specimen sizes and root balls suited to narrow access paths common in older neighbourhoods.
Typical first commission
A rear garden of 80–120 m² where the client wants clearer zones for dining, children and planting without major structural works.
Deliverables include a scaled layout, material schedule and phased planting list with quantities for contractor or DIY installation.
Selected projects
Shaded courtyard replan
Replanted narrow yard with raised timber beds, gravel paths and shade-tolerant ferns and hostas. Completed spring 2025.
